World No. 2 Novak Djokovic remains undefeated in 2011, after cruising to a straight-set victory over Denis Istomin Friday evening. The former Miami champion is through to the third round.
Second seed Novak Djokovic had little difficulty adding win #19 to his season record, having downed Denis Istomin in the second round, 6-0, 6-1. The 23-year-old held seven consecutive service games en route to a 49-minute victory.
After taking the opening set in 23 minutes, Djokovic secured service breaks at 2-1 and 4-1 in the second set. He went on to close the match with five of 6 break point chances converted.
The World No. 2 will meet veteran James Blake in the next round. The American wildcard rallied to defeat 27th seed Thomaz Bellucci, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(6).

nole is flying right now..

Nole has nobody left in his draw to come even close to him...no pressure whatsoever...he will have an easy ride to the finals...not only that he plays great tennis at the moment, but he is also being lucky with all these poor guys like Murray, Verda, Wawrinka leaving the tourney early, and most likely Soderling will be sent packing soon due to his injury...it is just meant to be for Nole...Miami trophy is already smiling at him...

If Rafa gets to the final he'll have something to say about that.
nadline , 3/26/11 11:50 AM
yeah, I agree Nad...but it is not as it will be easy for Rafa to reach the finals whereas Nole is having a dream path to there...I am sure if Rafa is in the finals he will not let Nole get the win as he did at IW...

Novak's opponents need an off day from him in order to beat him.He is too good to be beaten at his best right now.

It would be really shocking if Djokovic doesn't make it to the Semis. A possible Ferrer-Djokovic Semi would be fun with 2 of the best returners up against each other.

I think the way Nole is playing now, only fatigue can stop him before the final. Yes, I think it will be interesting to see Ferrer vs Nole. Nole beats Ferrer most of the time on hard courts, even before Nole becomes so confident with all his wins now. If both can reached the semi, I think the semi may not be a smooth ride for Nole. Maybe a Nole/Ferrer semi may be more competitive than a Nole/Delpo semi.
In Nole's quarter, there's really no one left who could offer him just a little bit of challenge, not Troicki, not Querrey, not Anderson and not Isner. My, what a quarter that is!
