Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka will re-create their Olympic gold-medal effort for the July 8-10 Davis Cup European zonal second round tie against Portugal in Switzerland.
Federer revealed the plans to Swiss tabloid Blick prior to his start at the Indian Wells Masters.
The pairing will be the first for the two since they won the Beijing gold in 2008 and followed up by playing Davis Cup against Belgium.
When Federer does make a rare venture onto the doubles court, it has usually been with one of his close tennis friends Yves Allegro or Marco Chiudinelli. But at Indian Wells, it's game on for Federer and Stan once again.
"Roger knows what he wants," said Wawrinka. "It's clear that the extra match practice can only be useful for the Davis Cup. The pair were beginning against the world's second-best combination in their Indian Wells first round in a match with Canadian Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi of Belarus.
