Top ranked Swede Robin Soderling will lead his team against a decimated Russian squad with Igor Andreev taking the Russian side in the first rubber.
Robin Soderling is currently ranked at a career high No. 4 in the world. The Swede fell victim to Alexandr Dolgopolov in the round of 16 at the Australian Open, but his other 3 tournaments this year have all resulted in titles.
Igor Andreev has posted exactly 3 tour-level wins in 2011 so far. He came through qualifying in Sydney, but he promptly lost in the second round.
The combined factors of Soderling’s current form and the fact that the Swedes will be raucously behind their side spells almost-certain disaster for Andreev. The Russian would do well to win a set, but the outcome is going to likely be Soderling in straight sets.
