World No. 10 Jurgen Melzer will kick off the Davis Cup tie between Austria and France, as he squares off against Jeremy Chardy. Fellow Austrian Stefan Koubek is set to take on former World No. 6 Gilles Simon.

Jurgen Melzer leads Jeremy Chardy 2-0 in the series, having won their last meeting on clay in Hamburg.
The 29-year-old is 22-28 through 22 Davis Cup ties contested since his debut in 1999. Melzer is 5-3 for the 2011 season, bolstered by a quarterfinal run in Marseilles.
World No. 55 Jeremy Chardy has yet to win a match in 2011. The 24-year-old Frenchman is 0-4, following first-round losses in Chennai, Sydney, Melbourne and Dubai. Friday marks his second appearance in Davis Cup competition.
Predicted winner: Melzer in straight sets.
Gilles Simon vs. Stefan Koubek
Gilles Simon meets Stefan Koubek for the first time since 2007, when the Austrian earned a straight-set victory in Metz.
The Frenchman will be making his fifth appearance in Davis Cup competition on Friday. He has compiled a solid 9-5 record on the ATP World Tour, with help from a title-winning run in Sydney.
Veteran Stefan Koubek is currently ranked World No. 206. He is set to take part in his 22nd Davis Cup tie since his debut in 1998. The 34-year-old is 0-1 for the 2011 season, following unsuccessful qualifying attempts in Brisbane and Melbourne and a first-round loss in Zagreb.
Predicted winner: Simon in four sets.
