Sixth seed Janko Tipsarevic is through to the Delray Beach quarterfinal, after surviving a round of 16 match against Blaz Kavcic. Former champion Kei Nishikori also advanced, having upended James Blake in straight sets.

Janko Tipsarevic made the final eight, following his hard-fought victory over Blaz Kavcic late Wednesday. The 26-year-old, who led 3-1 in the decider, missed five match points before closing the contest in two hours and 43 minutes. Tipsarevic ended the evening with 15 aces and five of 15 break points converted.
He will face Ivan Dodig in the quarterfinal. The Croatian rallied to down Dudi Sela in the round of 16, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Kei Nishikori def. (WC) James Blake 6-3, 6-4
Kei Nishikori improved to 2-1 over wildcard James Blake Wednesday evening, after scoring a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the round of 16. The 2008 Delray Beach champion held ten consecutive service games through 64 minutes of play.
Nishikori broke the Blake serve at 3-2 in the first set, then 1-1 in the second. The 21-year-old completed the match with 30 of 37 first-service points captured.
He is scheduled to take on qualifier Ryan Sweeting for a place in the semifinal. Sweeting defeated fellow American Sam Querrey in the round of 16, 7-6(5), 6-4.
