Wildcard James Blake made a successful start to the 2011 Delray Beach Tennis Championships, having ousted 7th seed Benjamin Becker in three sets. He is joined by Teymuraz Gabashvili, who upset fourth seed John Isner.

Two-time Delray Beach finalist James Blake improved to 4-0 lifetime over 7th seed Benjamin Becker late Monday afteroon. The 31-year old American broke at 5-5 in the opening set, then rallied from a 1-3 deficit in the second set. After recovering the service break, Blake took a final service break at 4-4. He completed the one-hour and 16-minute match with 7 aces and three of 5 break points converted.
Blake is next to face either Brian Dabul or 2008 Delray Beach champion Kei Nishikori.
Teymuraz Gabashvili def. (4) John Isner 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(13)
World No. 76 Teymuraz Gabashvili is through to the second round, by virtue of his three-set victory over fourth seed John Isner. The 25-year-old Russian secured his first win since early January, after suffering opening-round exits in Melbourne, San Jose and Memphis. Gabashvili withstood 21 aces and saved four match points en route to a 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(13) success in two hours and 31 minutes.
He will take on Richard Berankis or Juan Martin Del Potro for a place in the quarterfinal.
