Former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt set a quarterfinal meeting with two-time Memphis champion Andy Roddick, after recording a three-set victory over Adrian Mannarino late Thursday.
Lleyton Hewitt is through to the final eight at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships, following his come-from-behind win against Adrian Mannarino. The veteran fought off two match points, as he rallied to a 6-7(9), 7-5, 6-0 success in two hours and 38 minutes.
After dropping the opening set, Hewitt trailed 15-40 at 4-5 in the second. Solid serving helped the Australian out of trouble, as he leveled the match at a set apiece. The 30-year-old quickly went ahead 2-0 in the third, aided by a double fault from Mannarino. Hewitt captured 12 of 13 service points in the decider, as he closed the match with a bagel set.
The former World No. 1 completed the evening with 12 aces and seven of 17 break points converted.
He will take on top seed Andy Roddick for a place in the semifinal. The American came through his round of 16 battle with Janko Tipsarevic, 6-1, 7-6(8).
