    Memphis - Fish through in two, Querrey survives in three Mardy Fish made the second round at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships, after taking out Teymuraz Gabashvili in straight sets. Defending champion Sam Querrey also advanced, having outlasted Denis Istomin late Tuesday.

    Fourth seed Mardy Fish is through to the round of 16, following his straight-set victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili early Tuesday. The World No. 17 collected 9 aces and four service breaks through 87 minutes of play. The 29-year-old American, twice a semifinalist in Memphis, recorded his first win since a thyroid problem halted his effort at last month’s Australian Open.

    Fish is slated to face Lukas Lacko in the next round. Lacko rallied to oust Dudi Sela in the opening round, 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-3.

    (5) Sam Querrey def. Denis Istomin 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 6-4

    A struggling Sam Querrey earned his first victory in 2011, after rallying to upend Denis Istomin Tuesday night. The defending champion dug out of a set deficit to record a three-set win in two hours and 22 minutes. At one set apiece, Querrey took a critical break at 2-2 in the deciding set. The American went on to complete the match with 19 aces and 51 of 58 first-service points secured.

    He will take on Brian Dabul in the round of 16. The Argentine won his opener against Michal Przysiezny in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.
