Juan Martin Del Potro made a successful SAP Open debut late Tuesday, as he eased to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili. The Argentine is joined in the round of 16 by Lukas Lacko, who ousted Sam Querrey in straight sets.

Former World No. 4 Juan Martin Del Potro is through to the second round, following his 6-3, 6-2 win against opponent Teymuraz Gabashvili Tuesday night. The 22-year-old, who tallied 9 aces during the match. held nine of 9 games without facing a break point.
After taking the opening set in 32 minutes, Del Potro earned a key service break at 2-2 in the second. An insurance break came at 4-2 for the Argentine, who went on to close the match in 78 minutes.
Del Potro will face Lukas Lacko for a place in the quarterfinal.

World No. 113 Lukas Lacko made the round of 16, having ousted third seed Sam Querrey in straight sets. The 23-year-old collected 10 aces en route to a 7-6(6), 6-3 victory in 77 minutes. Lacko won the opening-set tie-break after Querrey donated a forehand error trailing 5-6. The American dug out of a 0-2 deficit in the second, only to drop serve at 2-3. Lacko held serve to 5-3, then closed once Querrey netted a service return.
