Fourth seed Juan Ignacio Chela advanced to the final eight at the Movistar Open, by virtue of his straight-set win over Caio Zampieri. He is joined in the quarterfinal by compatriot Horacio Zeballos, who upset top seed David Nalbandian.

World No. 39 Juan Ignacio Chela is through to the quarterfinal, following his 6-2, 6-3 victory over qualifier Caio Zampieri early Thursday. The veteran served poorly, but returned well to secure six service breaks through 84 minutes of play. After winning the opening set in 38 minutes, Chela broke at 2-2 in set two. The Argentine fell to 3-3, then regrouped to earn a final break to lead 4-3.
He is slated to face Santiago Giraldo for a place in the semifinal. The 8th seed held on to defeat Igor Andreev in the round of 16, 7-6(7), 4-6, 6-2.
Horacio Zeballos def. (1) David Nalbandian 6-2, 7-5
Horacio Zeballos made the last eight late Thursday, having upset top-seeded countryman David Nalbandian in straight sets. After losing an early lead in the first set, Zeballos recovered to break at 2-1. Nalbandian built a 3-1 edge in the second, but donated a double fault to fall 3-3. Zeballos held to 6-5 after fighting off three break points, then broke to complete the match.
He will meet Potito Starace in the quarterfinal. The 5th seed earned a round of 16 victory over Pablo Andujar, 6-4, 6-1.
