As Andy Murray fights his personal demons after a second straight Australian Open title loss, he's getting some advice: get a coach.
The word came in Britain from Greg Rusedski, the former player with whom the Scot has never been close. But television commentator Rusedski made his recommendation anyway, suggesting that Murray could profit with a steady hand such as Australian Tony Roche onside. But that would appear to present an impossible logistical issues, with Roche not only working with his nation's Davis Cup team but also the personal coach of Lleyton Hewitt.
"Someone like Tony Roche would be a great thing for Murray," television commentator Rusedski told British media. "He coached Ivan Lendl who was No. 1, he coached Pat Rafter who was No. 1, he coached Lleyton Hewitt who was No. 1 and he coached Roger Federer, so that's not a bad record is it?”
1997 US Open finalist Rusedski called Roche "a no-nonsense sort of guy who has that experience, I think that would be beneficial for Murray having someone with him who's been there and done it."
Murray parted with his former coach Miles MacLagan last summer and has since been advised by Spain's Alex Corretja - remaining in Barcelona for the Australian Open - and a travelling circus of various hitting partners. physios, trainers, and of course, his mother Judy.

Did all these players make it to No 1 because of Tony Roche or inspite of him?
I seem to remember he hardly ever made the top 10, top 20 or 30 was more the heights he scaled, why would he suddenly know how to help Murray in one of the most challenging eras of tennis ever.

Mr. Lindahl,
Yet again you deliver the goods, I wonder in which school you learnt this constant practice of turning a headline into a complete lie?
Rusedski, judging from these lines, never says that corretja is not a 'proper' trainer, who would say such a disrespectul thing?
Good point deuce

The Rotterdam draw is out as it seems a very tricky one all round. Murray plays Baghdatis in the 1st round, and Sod, the top seed, plays Hasse. No obvious winner at the moment.

From what I see, here is Murray's problem:
- Don't blame the coach all the time when Murray has a psychology problem (the boy needs to be more +ve and have fun out there, as opposed to looking like he was denied getting laid the night before, and geeling groggy the next morning)
- His mother sitting court side in almost every tournament (it's like having not moved out of your home as and adult, and mommy is telling you how to hit each shot - give the boy some breathing room for #@$ sakes!)
- The boy has got talent no doubt and deserves a GS but I find he runs out of spirit/drive during a certain point in a GS
