Novak Djokovic won't quite admit it, but winning the Davis Cup final in a month against France in Belgrade is currently powering his tennis through the last three weeks of the season.
The defending champion is making all the right noises about hoping to defend the title he took from Roger Federer a year ago in the Swiss player's hometown.
But in the back of the world No. 3's mind is the Davis date with history for a new nation which was not even a blip on the tennis radar a decade ago.
"This is a bit opportunity that you don't experience it many times in your life," said Djokovic. "We really want to win that Davis Cup final, it's my priority for this year."
The 23-year-old Serb is also the only one among the men's ranking big four of the sport to have consistently fronted up for Davis Cup duties among Rafael Nadal, Federer and Scot Andy Murray.
"I've played every tie for last couple of years. Playing for your country is different feeling than in any other event. It's the only occasion where you can feel the team spirit and proudly represent your country. We (Serbia) have something really special, great friendships off the court and the atmosphere which gives us a lot of success."
The Serbian team is all tuning up this week in Basel, with Djokovic, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki into the singles second round and Nenad Zimonjic playing doubles with Canadian Daniel Nestor after winning their sixth title of the season at the weekend in Vienna.
