Third seed Potito Starace is through to the BCR Open quarterfinal, after rallying to oust wildcard Victor Crivoi on Thursday. The Italian is joined by qualifier Pablo Andujar, who upset second seed Florian Mayer.

Third seed Potito Starace survived a difficult second-round match, having rallied to upend hometown hope Victor Crivoi in three sets. The Italian booked a quarterfinal berth with a 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 victory in two hours and 45 minutes. After fighting to level the match, Starace struck six aces and saved four of four break points in the third set.
Starace will face Marcel Granollers for a place in the semifinals. The Spaniard rallied to defeat second-round opponent Filippo Volandri in three sets Thursday afternoon.

Qualifier Pablo Andujar battled into the final eight with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win over second seed Florian Mayer. The Spaniard saved five of seven break chances through two hours and 12 minutes of play. With the second-round victory, the world No. 105 extended his tour-level season record to 5-5.
Andujar is scheduled to take on Pablo Cuevas in the quarterfinals. The Uruguayan defeated Carlos Berlocq in the second round, 6-0, 6-4.
