Two months after parting with Andy Murray, Miles Maclagan, the former coach of the Scot. has landed on his feet, signing on to work with an unlikely client in the form of German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
MacLagan and Murray split in July, with the world No. 4 using his mother Judy as an occasional scout and sounding board over the summer through the US Open. MacLagan, meanwhile, will work to lift the ranking of the 31st-ranked Kohlschreiber, who once stood 22nd.
The German reached the fourth round at the Australian and French Open and also owns a recent win over Murray, 6-2 6-1 in Monte-Carlo last April.
While MacLagan moves on, London's Daily Mail reported that Murray could go through the rest of 2010 without appointing a coach. He has instead reportedly been hitting in London with unknown former Venezuelan Davis Cup player Dani Vallverdu and could well continue the arrangement.
Meanwhile, German Boris Becker has voiced an opinion, saying that Murray should have sacked MacLagan in the spring. "I feel as though he shouldn’t have stayed with MacLagan for as long as he did, and should have fired him six months ago," Becker told British media, hinting that MacLagan's modest curriculum as a Top 200 player did not really equip him with the skills required to guide an elite pupil.

Exactly Ramara. I can't stand Boris Becker now (not when he was still a player), he keeps saying things like this. Why don't he said it in the first place before everything happened. I bet had Murray won the Wimbledon or the USO, Boris would keep his big mouth shut! Why don't he offer to become Murray's coach and we see what will happen to Murray. If he can't deliver, then I hope somebody will pay him the same kind of respect he gave to Miles.

Anyway. Murray champion of the GS. a lot of tennisfans to expect it even if it is not Andy's fan.

Good thinking there, Boris. Obivously, Nadal should immediately fire his Uncle Toni, because he'll never get anywhere sticking with a guy who was never more than a good club player. :p
