    Kohlschreiber, Simon move into round two Gilles Simon breezed into the second round of the US Open with a straight-set victory over Donald Young on Wednesday. The Frenchman is joined by Philipp Kohlschreiber, who won his opener against compatriot Tobias Kamke.

    Twenty-ninth seed Philipp Kohlschreiber is through to the second round after defeating fellow Geman Tobias Kamke in four sets. The 26-year-old secured seven of 21 break chances through two hours and 32 minutes of play. An error-prone Kamke committed 15 double faults, five of which occurring in the final set.

    Kohlschreiber will face Gilles Simon for a place in the third round.

    Former World No. 6 Gilles Simon encountered little resistance during his first-round clash with Donald Young Wednesday afternoon. The Frenchman passed through the 81-minute match without surrendering serve. The 25-year-old struck 9 aces and 26 winners en route to booking a place in the second round.
