Alejandro Falla is through to the second round at the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, after upsetting 16th seed Gael Monfils early Tuesday. Falla is joined by wild card Robby Ginepri, who rallied to a win in three sets.

Qualifier Alejandro Falla moved into round two with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over 16th seed Gael Monfils on Tuesday. The 26-year-old secured three of 4 break point opportunities en route to a first-round win in 61 minutes. Falla, ranked World No. 67, improved his season record to 14-14.
The Colombian will take on Philipp Kohschreiber for a place in the round of 16. The German rallied to defeat Horacio Zeballos in the opening round, 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4.
(WC) Robby Ginepri def. (Q) Somdev Devvarman 6-7(3), 7-6(4), 6-2
Wild card Robby Ginepri fought his way into the second round, after rallying to upend qualifier Somdev Devvarman. The veteran American converted five of 13 break chances through two hours and 35 minutes of play. The 27-year-old, who entered into the event ranked World No. 117, extended his Tour-level mark to 8-12 for the year.
Ginepri moves on to face 6th seed Nikolay Davydenko in the second round.
