Andy Murray is buoyed by success from his weekend Toronto title and likes his chances at the upcoming US Open.
Meanwhile, the No. 4 Scot goes in as a title pick at this week's Cincinnati event, the last major tune-up before the August 30 start of Grand Slam play in New York.
"The last few matches have been great," said Murray, fifth man to beat both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the same tournament. "You need to obviously be in your best shape going into the Slams because of the best of five sets.
"But if I can get a little bit fitter and stronger the next couple of weeks, play like I have been the last few matches, then, you know, I'll definitely give myself a chance.
"The surface in New York is my favourite one, so I've definitely got a shot, but I need to play great."
Murray beat Federer for the first time in a final as he won Toronto after losing his three previous title bids against the Swiss.
