A resurgent Jeremy Chardy booked a place in the Rogers Cup quarterfinal, following his 6-3, 6-2 besting of 6th seed Nikolay Davydenko. The Frenchman is joined by Philipp Kohlschreiber, who rallied to defeat Yen-Hsun Lu.

World No. 72 Jeremy Chardy continued his winning ways in Toronto with a 60-minute, straight-set success against 6th seed Nikolay Davydenko. The Frenchman captured 81% of his first-service points en route to a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the round of 16. Chardy is through to his first quarterfinal berth at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Canada.
The 23-year-old is next to battle 2007 champion Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinal. The World No. 2 ousted Victor Hanescu in the round of 16, 6-3, 6-4.
Philipp Kohlschreiber def. (Q) Yen-Hsun Lu 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-0
Philipp Kohlschreiber made the last eight in Toronto, after rallying to outlast qualifier Yen-Hsun Lu Thursday afternoon. The 26-year-old German struck 19 aces on his way to a three-set victory in two hours and 43 minutes. Kohlschreiber endured a tricky day on serve, but held on to save 11 of 11 break point chances.
The World No. 37 will take on either qualifier Kevin Anderson or World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the next round.
