Andy Murray's former coach Miles Maclagan doesn't have a harsh word to utter after his split with his fellow Scot - but the unemployed trainer is on the lookout for some new work, hopefully before the US Open begins.
Murray, ranked fourth, is currently in the market for a new mentor after breaking with MacLagan and Spanish clay consultant Alex Corretja several weeks ago in a showdown over career direction and general strategy.
MacLagan is keeping his mouth shut and his options open. He told the BBC that he is looking "to see if there is anyone needing a new coach" and says sooner is always better for a job offer. MacLagan was the working head of Team Murray for two and a half years, guiding the player to this year's Australian Open final where he lost the match and confidence at the hands of Roger Federer.
"Andy is a very smart guy and a very good tennis player. He doesn't need to be told all the time 'you hit your forehand like this, hit your backhand like this'.
"We had a good relationship, we still have a good relationship," MacLagan told the BBC. "We're not hugging each other and high-fiving every time something good happens. I was always aware that I'd been given a very good opportunity to work with someone like him."
MacLagan pointed out that Murray, 23, also serves as a good example to British youth - as opposed, perhaps, to some Premier League footballers. "Here's a guy who is driven, works very, very hard, is not falling out of nightclubs, and not being pictured with a different girl every week. He sets a very good example in a lot of different areas."
