Defending champion Robin Soderling made the semifinal of the SkiStar Swedish Open on Friday, after rallying to defeat Andreas Seppi. The Swede is joined by Tommy Robredo, a winner over second seed Fernando Verdasco.

Top seed Robin Soderling earned a spot in the semifinal, following his come-from-behind victory over Andreas Seppi. The Italian had led by a set and 5-4, but failed to close. Soderling struck 13 aces en route to the 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(5) victory in two hours and 25 minutes. With the quarterfinal-round win, the 25-year-old is through to his sixth ATP World Tour semifinal of the season.
Soderling will take on 2007 Bastad champion David Ferrer for a place in the final. The Spaniard downed Pablo Cuevas in the quarterfinal, 6-3, 6-3.
(5) Tommy Robredo def. (2) Fernando Verdasco 6-4, 6-3
Fifth seed Tommy Robredo improved to 5-4 lifetime against fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco on Friday. The two-time Swedish Open champion secured three of 9 break point chances to seal the 6-4, 6-3 success in 83 minutes of play. Verdasco, who hit four double faults during the match, captured just five of 12 second-service points.
Robredo faces compatriot Nicolas Almagro in the semifinal. The fourth seed rallied to dismiss qualifier Franco Skugor in the quarterfinal, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.
