Andy Murray's prediction that Britain's Davis Cup tennis minnows would do fine without him onside proved correct in a 5-0 weekend sweep.
But even after "abandoning" the side to rest after Wimbledon, Davis Cup captain Leon Smith says there will always be room for Murray.
The crushing of Turkey was just what was needed to prevent Britain from falling into the lowest of the Davis Cup zonal levels - now it's fightback time.
Smith, first coach of Murray when the player was a child in Scotland, says that the No. 4 can re-join the squad at his pleasure. Murray has time to ponder, with the next tie not until 2011.
"We're all friends with Andy Murray, we've all got close relationships with him, and that positivity is something that we enjoy," said Smith. "Everyone is working together to make things better."
"When he wants to come back in the team of course we'll love that because he's one of the world's best players and any team in the world would love to have Andy Murray in it.
Smith, who came on board when John Lloyd resigned in the wake of a fifth straight Davis defeat in the spring, said Murray's decision to let his teammates fend for themselves has proved to be wise.
"They now go away with great confidence from winning in what is a pressure situation. They can build on that for the rest of the year, so it has its positives."
