Tommy Robredo made the second round of the SkiStar Swedish Open on Tuesday, following his straight-set victory over Michal Przysiezny. Fellow seed Paul-Henri Mathieu fell to Pablo Cuevas in two tie-break sets.

Two-time former champion Tommy Robredo is through to round two in Bastad after taking out first-round challenger Michael Przysiezny Tuesday afternoon. The fifth seed held 11 of 11 service games en route to a 7-6(3), 6-3 victory in one hour and 20 minutes. The Spaniard completed the day with seven aces and 44 of 52 first-serve points captured. With the opening-round win, Robredo extended his season record to 10-12.
Robredo will face Andrey Golubev for a place in the quarterfinal. Golubev took out Maximo Gonzalez in the first round, 6-3, 6-2.
Pablo Cuevas def. (6) Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-6(2), 7-6(3)
Pablo Cuevas ousted sixth seed Paul-Henri Mathieu to reach the second round in Bastad. Cuevas, ranked world No. 64, pocketed 80% of his first-service points before sealing the victory in an hour and 53 minutes. The Uruguayan improved his 2010 mark to 11-13.
Cuevas is scheduled to take on Pere Riba in the second round. The Spaniard rallied to win his opener against Australian Peter Luczak on Monday, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(6).
