Top seed Sam Querrey made a winning start to the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Championships on Tuesday, as he took out Jesse Levine in straight sets. The American is joined in round two by Nicolas Mahut, a winner over third seed Alejandro Falla.

Newport finalist Sam Querrey needed just 59 minutes to defeat fellow American Jesse Levine Tuesday afternoon. The top seed blasted 15 aces en route to a 6-3, 6-3 success in the opening round. Querrey, who extended his record to 2-0 against Levine, passed through the contest with nine of 9 service games held and 85% of first-service points captured.
The World No. 19 will face Dustin Brown in the round of 16. Brown came through his opener with veteran Bjorn Phau in three sets, 7-6(3), 6-7(7), 6-4.

Wildcard Nicolas Mahut made a successful return to competition on Tuesday, holding on to oust third seed Alejandro Falla in three sets. The Frenchman saved five of 7 break points to secure the 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory in one hour and 23 minutes. The 2007 Newport finalist, who struck five aces during the match, improved to 2-0 over Falla.
Mahut is scheduled to meet Frank Dancevic for a place in the quarterfinal. The Canadian made his way past veteran Marc Gicquel in round one, 7-5, 6-4.
