Fellow seeds Jurgen Melzer and Feliciano Lopez made the third round of competition at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, following successful outings against respective opponents Viktor Troicki and Ricardas Berankis.

Sixteenth seed Jurgen Melzer barely avoided defeat, but rallied successfully to outlast second-round opponent Viktor Troicki in five sets. The Austrian withstood 32 aces from the Serb, as a key service break in the decided pushed him through in three hours and 17 minutes. Melzer ended the day with 75 winners and three of 11 break point opportunities converted.
The sixteenth seed is scheduled to face 22nd seed Feliciano Lopez for a spot in the round of 16.

Queen’s Club semifinalist Feliciano Lopez struck 25 aces en route to a four-set victory over qualifier Ricardas Berankis on Wednesday. The 22nd seed lost just one service game during the match, as he earned the second-round win in two hours and 27 minutes. The Spaniard completed the afternoon with 78 winners and three breaks of the Lithuanian’s serve.
Lopez trails Melzer 2-3 in the head-to-head series, prior to their battle for a fourth round berth.
