Tomas Berdych made a strong start to his 2010 Wimbledon campaign, as he dismissed Andrey Golubev in straight sets. The Czech is joined in the second round by Nikolay Davydenko, who rallied from two sets down to defeat Kevin Anderson.

Seventh seed Nikolay Davydenko is through to the second round after rallying to take out Kevin Anderson in five sets. The Russian, continuing his comeback after a serious wrist injury, overcame 36 aces from the South African to win in four hours and 13 minutes. Davydenko earned a key service break late in the match, cementing the deciding set at 9-7.
The 29-year-old completed the marathon opening round with 84 winners and four of 7 break points converted. He faces Daniel Brands in the next round. The German upended Igor Andreev in the first round, 7-6(5), 7-6(4), 7-5.

Twelfth seed Tomas Berdych had little trouble in the opening round, having taken out opponent Andrey Golubev in straight sets. The Czech surrendered serve only once during the match, and did not face a break point in sets two and three. Berdych fired 12 aces and converted five of 8 break points, as he sealed the win in one hour and 55 minutes.
Berdych is scheduled to take on Benjamin Becker in round two. The German rallied to defeat American Ryan Sweeting in the first round, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4.
