Fellow seeds Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Michael Llodra have earned the opportunity to contest the AEGON International championship, following their respective victories over Denis Istomin and Alexandr Dolgopolov on Friday.
(5) Guillermo Garcia-Lopez def. Denis Istomin 3-6, 6-3, 6-4
Fifth seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez rallied from a set deficit to down semifinal opponent Denis Istomin. The Spaniard secured three of 20 break point chances to seal the win in one hour and 57 minutes. Garcia-Lopez, ranked world No. 41 is through to his first ATP World Tour final since May of 2009, when he captured the Kitzbuhel crown.
(8) Michael Llodra def. (7) Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-3, 7-5
Eighth seed Michael Llodra needed just 61 minutes to record a 6-3, 7-5 victory over seventh seed Alexandr Dolgopolov. The veteran Frenchman struck 12 aces and held 10 of 11 service games to book his second ATP World Tour final of the year.
Saturday afternoon’s battle will signal the first career meeting between Garcia-Lopez and Llodra.
