Queen’s Club - Llodra upsets Cilic, Murray vs. Fish suspended Michael Llodra ousted Marin Cilic in straight sets to book a place in the AEGON Championships quarterfinal. The Frenchman will be joined by either defending champion Andy Murray or Mardy Fish, once their round of 16 match concludes early Friday.

    (12) Michael Llodra def. (5) Marin Cilic 7-6(2), 6-2

Veteran Michael Llodra took out Marin Cilic in the round of 16, losing serve just once in one hour and 22 minutes of play. After taking the opening set tie-break, the Frenchman led 2-0 in the second set. An insurance break came at 4-2 for Llodra, through to his first quarterfinal since recording a championship run in Marseille.

The 30-year-old ended the day with eight aces and three of seven break points converted. He awaits the winner of the Murray-Fish round of 16 clash.

    (3) Andy Murray vs. Mardy Fish 4-6, 6-1, 3-3

Defending champion Andy Murray will complete his round of 16 match with Mardy Fish early Friday. After rallying from a 1-3 hole in the deciding set, the Scot leveled the match at 3-3. Tournament officials then elected to suspend the match due to darkness.

off topic but does any one know why is wawrinka playing a challenger?? :S :S

and murray lost too ...really strange but fish isnt easy to deal with on grass.

What happened to the top ten players. Throughout the whole clay season, only two of them(Fed and Sod, Verdasco wasn't top ten yet during MC) had gone all the way to meet Rafa. Are they going to do the same this grass court season??

Murray, Nole and Roddick all lost before the semi at RG and they should have more time to familiarize themselves with the grass courts. Why are they all not doing well so far?? Strange things do happen. Even Cilic wasn't spared! Rafa please be the exception here OK??

clayking , 6/11/10 2:31 PM

yup clayking, its his hometown but still whats the pnt of playing a challenger when u have such a good game.

vamosrafa , 6/11/10 3:05 PM

if he plays an atp event this week, what do you think is he max amount of point that he can gather??
and how much do you think he can gather in the challengers??(the winner gets 100 points i think)..
he is just being smart!!

I just despair of Andy and Novak at the mo. Andy's got so much talent and so little bottle, it seems. He just looked sulky and cross out there. Yes, it was bad luck last night and also a bit of bad luck at RG but HONESTLY he needs to get over himself. He played such a brilliant return at the start of the tie break, then tightened up and it was all over, what a waste. He can't string two points together, leave alone two matches!

Andy and Novak have the same mental makeup, the worst kind for sportsmen. If it were Rafa in his place, and he was mad at Fish for stopping play too early, he'd come back determined and ready and get the W, no doubt. These two really need to stop feeling sorry for themselves, not sweat the small stuff and look at the big picture.

andy is miles ahead of novak at the moment, but again, not even close to his full potential.
