Fellow Americans John Isner and Sam Querrey are through to the title match in Belgrade, after defeating respective opponents Stanislas Wawrinka and Filip Krajinovic in straight sets. The countrymen will contest the final on Sunday.
(2) John Isner def. (4) Stanislas Wawrinka 7-5, 7-5
John Isner successfully leveled the series with Stanislas Wawrinka at 1-1, having downed the fourth seed in straight sets Saturday afternoon. The American, who added 9 aces to his week tally, held 12 of 12 service games en route to a 7-5, 7-5 victory in one hour and 28 minutes. Isner broke at 6-5 in the opening set, helped by two costly double faults from Wawrinka. The 25-year-old broke at the same stage in set two, booking his third ATP World Tour final of the season.
(3) Sam Querrey def. (WC) Filip Krajinovic 6-1, 6-2
Third seed Sam Querrey put an end to a dream week for hometown hope Filip Krajinovic late Saturday. The American, through to his third Tour championship match in 2010, needed just 12 minutes to build a 5-0 advantage in the opening set. Querrey led 2-0 in the second, then snagged an insurance break to hold a 5-2 edge. The 22-year-old hit 8 aces and captured 25 of 27 first-service points, as he sealed the semifinal win in 51 minutes.
