Richard Gasquet earned safe passage into round two in Belgrade, following his 6-0, 6-1 victory over Olivier Rochus. He is joined by Horacio Zeballos, who rallied to defeat lucky loser Peter Polansky in three sets.

World No. 86 Richard Gasquet extended his series record to 4-2 against first-round opponent Olivier Rochus Tuesday afternoon. The Frenchman surrendered only one game during the match, closing 6-0, 6-1 in less than an hour. Gasquet earned his second consecutive clay-court victory over Rochus this season, adding to a previous success in Casablanca. The 23-year-old limited the Belgian to 9 return-points won. Gasquet, who did not face a break point, converted five of 9 chances on the Rochus serve.
Gasquet is scheduled to face 8th seed Andreas Seppi for a spot in the quarterfinal. The Italian rallied to take down Leonardo Mayer, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Horacio Zeballos def. (LL) Peter Polansky 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(2)
Horacio Zeballos outlasted lucky loser Peter Polansky in two hours and 9 minutes late Tuesday. After splitting the first two sets, the Argentine led 4-2 in the deciding set. Unable to hold the edge, the 25-year-old settled for a tie-break that went his way at seven points to two. Zeballos was originally slated to meet seventh seed Janko Tipsarevic, who withdrew due to illness.
Zeballos will face hometown wildcard Filip Krajinovic in the round of 16. The Serb survived a tough opener with Russian qualifier Evgeny Donskoy player profile" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #000;">Evgeny Donskoy on Tuesday, 5-7, 7-6(7), 6-1.
