Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made a winning start in Barcelona on Wednesday, dismissing Jan Hajek in straight sets. The third seed is joined in the round of 16 by Eduardo Schwank, who took down 12th seed Lleyton Hewitt.

Third seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made quick work of second-round opponent Jan Hajek Wednesday afternoon, cruising to a 6-3, 6-2 victory in 65 minutes. The 25-year-old Frenchman passed through the contest unbroken, having secured three of 6 break point chances. Tsonga turned in a solid serving day, winning 33 of 40 first-service points. With the victory, the World No. 10 improved his 2010 season record to 16-7.
Tsonga moves on to face 15th seed Nicolas Almagro for a spot in the quarterfinal. The Spaniard defeated Simon Greul in the second round on Tuesday, 6-1, 6-3.
Eduardo Schwank def. (12) Lleyton Hewitt 7-6(3), 6-4
World No. 59 Eduardo Schwank reached the round of 16, following his straight-sets win over former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt. The Argentine held ten of 11 service games, en route to a 7-6(3), 6-4 victory in an hour and 44 minutes. Schwank, now 8-8 for the year, successfully rebounded after a first-round loss last week in Monte-Carlo.
Schwank is scheduled to meet lucky-loser Ivan Navarro in the next round. The Spaniard downed qualifier Pablo Cuevas in his opening round match, 6-2, 6-4.
