    Gonzalez, Hewitt fall in Houston Juan Ignacio Chela made the final four at the US Men’s Clay Court Championship, after knocking out defending champion Lleyton Hewitt on Friday. He is joined by Horacio Zeballos, who upset top seed Fernando Gonzalez.

    Horacio Zeballos is through to the Houston semifinal, following his straight-sets defeat of former champion Fernando Gonzalez. The Argentine took a 3-2 advantage in the opening set, as the Chilean gave away a double fault. Zeballos continued the momentum in set two, pocketing an immediate break of serve to lead 2-0. The 24-year-old, ranked World No. 54, improved his season record to 7-8.

    Zeballos faces fellow Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela in the semifinal.

    Juan Ignacio Chela def. (4/WC) Lleyton Hewitt 6-4, 6-3

    Juan Ignacio Chela dismissed defending champion Lleyton Hewitt Friday afternoon, 6-4, 6-3. The Argentine snagged a service break at 2-2 in the opening set, then led 5-0 in the second. Chela missed the chance to close twice, allowing Hewitt to win three consecutive games. The Australian failed to hold serve in the final game, sealing the victory for the Argentine in 72 minutes.

    Friday’s win signaled the first success for Chela over Hewitt in more than four years. The veteran Argentine moved to 8-9 for the season, earning his first semifinal berth since Buenos Aires 2008.
