Gasquet avenges recent loss by crushing Rochus Richard Gasquet, who lost to Olivier Rochus in Miami, destroys the Belgian in straight sets on Tuesday in Casablanca. Gasquet is joined in the second round by Jarkko Nieminen and Arnaud Clement.

Richard Gasquet wasted no time in getting revenge on Olivier Rochus.

Rochus ousted Gasquet 7-6(2), 1-6, 6-4 in the first round of the Sony Ericsson Open and went on to upset Novak Djokovic, but the 5'6'' Belgian won't be enjoying any kind of run in Casablanca. Gasquet routed Rochus 6-1, 6-1 in the opening round of the Grand Prix Hassan II, needing just 47 minutes to set up a meeting with Andrey Golubev.

Gasquet did not drop a single service point in the first set (16 for 16) and he did not lose a point on serve until 6-1, 0-1, 40-0. The 74th-ranked Frenchman promptly won nine points in a row on serve thereafter, finish with 28 of 29 service points won. A completely demoralized Rochus surrendered serve for the fifth time to end the proceedings. The 5'6'' Belgian won a mere 20 points in the entire match compared to Gasquet's 54.

Jarkko Nieminen, who qualified for the main draw, also advanced to the second round with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Moroccan wild card Mehdi Ziadi. Nieminen's third break of serve gave him a one-set advantage and he added another three breaks in the second. The 71st-ranked Finn served at 80 percent and won 67 percent of his second-serve return points on his way to meeting with No. 3 seed Victor Hanescu.

Arnaud Clement joined Gasquet and Nieminen in the winner's circle by easing past Ivan Navarro 6-3, 6-3. Coming off a qualifying victory over Ivan Dodig that lasted three hours and 13 minutes, Navarro did not have a lot left for Clement and the Spaniard went down in one hour and 15 minutes.

Clement did not drop serve a single time, saving two break points in the first set and never allowing his opponent a break chance in the second. Next up for the 32-year-old Frenchman is No. 4 seed Lukasz Kubot.
