While Brit Andy Murray works to purge his tennis demons after missing out on major hardcourt success in the US last month, July's Davis Cup opponent Turkey are already looking ahead with eagerness to the playoff date.
The tie means everything to Britain, especially with Murray taking himself out of the mix during a March loss to Lithuania. His participation against Turkey is still far from assured.
But unless the hosts come up with a victory on grass at Eastbourne, the nation that hosts Wimbledon will find itself in the lowest reaches of the European zonal groups.
That would be fine by 22-year-old Turk Marsel Ilhan, who ranks 125th on the ATP but has begun making his mark this season by reaching the second round of a Grand Slam (Australia) for the first time and doing the same at Miami.
Ilhan is hoping to be inside the Top 100 - better ranked that any Brit outside of Murray - by the time of the summer playoff.
"If Turkey won a Davis Cup tie in Great Britain it would be a big surprise and big history, for all of us," Ilhan said. "We will try to do everything to win."
"I will try to win two singles and play good in the doubles. We will see what happens. My serve, my fitness, mentality have all changed. I have good confidence now to play against top players."
Murray, meanwhile,is trying to escape the funk that has enveloped him since crashing out in the Miami second round - his first match - and losing in the quarter-finals at Indian Wells.
The Scot is even money to make his start on clay at Monte Carlo in little more than a week.
