Andy Roddick was disappointed but not overwhelmed after his loss in two tiebreakers to Ivan Ljubicic in the final of the Indian Wells Masters.
The American who produced a dozen aces admitted that he couldn't cope as Ljubicic fired over 21 - his last on match point.
"I played well here, but I ran up against it today," said the former No. 1. "Overall I feel like I played well, especially considering where I was at three weeks ago, or a month ago (injury problems and a loss in the San Jose final to Fernando Verdasco).
"This is certainly a good result," Roddick said of his week in the desert. "You always want to win a tournament when you're in a final, so that's disappointing, but I played well."
The American heads to Miami hoping to improved on his quarter-final loss a year ago to Roger Federer.
