Dissatisfied Becker slams German Davis Cup attitude Boris Becker just can't keep his fingers out of the pie in German tennis with the former great complaining about the slacker attitude of the current generation of players in his homeland.

Wimbledon-based Becker, 42, who recent became a father again, told Germany's Sport-Bild magazine that the lack of enthusiasm was evident in the recent Davis Cup loss to France, which will force Germany to fight for life in September's relegation round.

"Unfortunately Patrick (Kuehnen, the captain) always has to field a "B" team, the Davis Cup is not that important for the players," Becker said.

"They don‘t manage to play for Germany for two weeks a year because there is too much pressure."

Germany was sadly lacking in this month's first-round tie, with Philipp Petzschner, Florian Mayer, Mischa Zwerev and Michael Berrer all missing while veteran Tommy Haas was recovering from hip surgery.

Becker led his nation to Davis Cup titles in 1988 and 1989.
