British players should have a voice in choose any new Davis Cup captain - at least according to Andy Murray.
Murray was not a part of the team which lost 3-2 to Lithuania at the weekend after opting out of the competition for this season. But the Scot has been following the growing controversy over national Davis destiny from the Indian Wells Masters.
"The Lawn Tennis Association will have to decide on John," said Murray. "We (players) should sit down together and decide on whom we'd be comfortable with on court - say who we want. If they LTA don't want it, fine. But we did voice our opinion.
"I think the players should have a strong say in the new captain."
Murray called the latest setback "hugely disappointing."
"British tennis is at a low point. But I'm fed up with reading only negativity and constant bickering."
