Croatian sensation Goran Ivanisevic has joined up with compatriot Marin Cilic's camp as a part-time coach as the No. 9 youngster strengthens his bid for a Top 5 ranking spot.
2001 Wimbledon winner Ivanisevic has hovered on the fringes of the game since his retirement and has now lined up a part-time advisor position with Team Cilic.
"It should be fun," said Ivanisevic, playing a senior event Zurich. "(Australian) Bob (Brett) is still his coach but in Miami and Madrid (in May) I'm going to be his replacement while he is not there. I will be like a mentor to Marin."
The pair will begin working together from next week in South Florida when Cilic completes his run at the Indian Wells Masters in California.
Cilic, winner of two titles this season, possesses a huge serve in the Croatian tradition of Ivanisevic and Ivo Karlovic. But he can always crank it up a notch with help from Goran. The pair worked together briefly last month.
"To be with him on the court is very special for me, and also because he was on the beginning of my career sort of like my idol, and then later he helped me as well," said Cilic.
"He obviously talked a lot with Bob, and most of the things he was telling me were around the same as Bob's. He didn't want to go too much away from my routine and everything because I was playing tournaments and these things.
"He's also speaking Croatian, it's much easier to understand sometimes some things. He makes pretty simple. He also went through many things that I'm going through now, so he has lot of experience to give me."

I said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here, too: I just hope Goran doesn't teach Cilic to embrace the Good Marin, the Bad Marin and the Crazy Marin to get all three to make friends to win tournaments.
Goran is the MAN! Best serve ever!

Umm, yeah. This could be good for Cilic.
