Team stand-outs Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek clinched the win for the Czech Republic, following their straight-sets doubles victory over Belgians Olivier Rochus and Steve Darcis on Saturday.

The Czech Republic cruised into the Davis Cup quarterfinal after stars Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek joined forces to take the decisive third point Saturday afternoon. The 2009 Davis Cup runner-up Czech Republic had led 2-0 heading into Saturday’s doubles contest, as both Berdych and Stepanek captured singles wins on Friday.
Berdych and Stepanek converted five of 8 break points on the day. The pair awaits the Israel-Chile tie-winner, with the quarterfinal round to be contested in the Czech Republic.
David Nalbandian/Horacio Zeballos def. Robin Soderling/Robert Lindstedt 6-2, 7-6, 7-6
David Nalbandian made a much-anticipated return to Davis Cup on Saturday, partnering with newcomer Horacio Zeballos in doubles. Nalbandian, who sustained a right leg injury in Buenos Aires last month, was named as a possible replacement on Thursday. The 28-year-old helped to give his country a critical 2-1 advantage after compatriots Eduardo Schwank and Leonardo Mayer split their singles rubbers.
Nalbandian and Zeballos combined for 47 total winners and three of 6 break points converted.
Mayer, a four-set winner over Joachim Johansson on Friday, can wrap up the tie on Sunday. The 22-year-old is scheduled take on Robin Soderling in the first singles rubber of the day.
