Three years after his first try, world No. 5 Juan Martin Del Potro will take another shot at the pre-Wimbledon grass of Queen's club, returning next summer in hopes of preparing to the maximum for the All-England Club Grand Slam date which follows.
The Argentine has signed on for a three-year commitment to the event, now a firm part of the schedule of fellow Latin Rafael Nadal, winner of the elite Queen's-Wimbledon double in 2008.
"I'm determined to do well on grass in my career and this is the perfect opportunity for me to improve my game on the surface," said Del Potro. "Many players have done well at Queen's in the past and then gone on to win at Wimbledon.
"I hope that this can happen for me also," he said of the June 7th-13th event, which begins the day after the French Open final.
Del Potro's only other appearance at the club was in 2007, when he lost in the second round to Nadal after beating Swede Thomas Johansson.
