Little more than a fortnight after quitting the Stockholm Open with what turned out to be a mild case of swine flu, German Tommy Haas will be back on court at this week's last event of the regular ATP season, the Paris Masters.
Though the 31-year-old ranked 17th has no chance to make he London season-ending final, Haas wants to show that he has made a full recovery.
The 16th seed - thanks to the ankle injury absence of Andy Roddick - gets a bye into the second round, where he will meet either Feliciano Lopez or qualifier Arnaud Clement.
Haas was the first major ATP figure to be affected by the swine flu virus, which forced him to miss this week in Basel. He immediately went for testing after being unable to leave his bed in Stockholm for several days. "I did a test because I suspected I had the swine flu and it was positive.
"I was quite relaxed because I know that swine flu is a particularly strong form of flu but when you are in a good physical condition like I am, then you can quickly beat it off."
