Robin Söderling is making the most of a quiet but important week at home, playing for the first time in his career as a member of the ATP top ten.
The top seed has begun nicely at the Stockholm Open, facing a bid for the quarter-finals against Italian Andreas Seppi.
Söderling is the 17th Swede to earn the Top 10 honour, which began with Björn Borg three decades ago. Söderling is also bidding to become the first home player since Mats Wilander in 1983 to complete the Swedish double - winning titles at both Båstad and Stockholm the same season.
"It would be a great thing, that's for sure", said the world No. 10. "I love playing at home. I don't really feel any extra pressure, I just know the fans are willing me on".
Söderling is trailing provisional ninth in the tight race for next month's ATP World Tour Finals behind Russian Nikolay Davydenko and Spain's Fernando Verdasco.
Both of them are out of competition for this week, with Söderling able to start closing the gap on Verdasco in the points chase.
