Jose Acasuso will be in opening-round action against Andreas Beck at the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 on Sunday. Dudi Sela, also in first-round competition, squares off against wildcard Shao-Xuan Zeng.
Jose Acasuso vs. Andreas Beck
Jose Acasuso is set for a first-time meeting with Andreas Beck on Sunday. The Argentine looks to rebound after falling 4-6, 2-6 to former No. 1 Marat Safin in the opening round of the China Open. The 26-year-old enters into Shanghai with a 21-19 record, earning a finals berth at the Movistar Open (lost to Gonzalez) and four semifinals spots: Costa do Sauipe, Buenos Aires, Acapulco and New Haven.
Beck returns to action following a round of 16 finish in Tokyo (lost to Berdych). The 23-year-old German holds a 21-17 season mark, highlighted by a run to the championship match in Gstaad (lost to Bellucci).
Dudi Sela vs. (WC) Shao-Xuan Zeng
Dudi Sela will face hometown wildcard Shao-Xuan Zeng in the opening round. The 24-year-old tries to shake off an early exit at the Japan Open, where he fell to qualifier Marco Chiudinelli in three sets. Sela is 18-20 in 2009, yet to win a match since the tournament in Los Angeles.
The 396th-ranked Zeng holds a 4-9 lifetime record on the ATP World Tour. The 28-year-old has spent the majority of his time competing in Futures and Challenger events.
