Fabrice Santoro is not giving up on the dream of ending his tennis career in style after two decades on court as a professional.
Despite exiting in the first round of the Thailand Open, the 36-year-old Frenchman is keen to push hard until the end, coming in mid-November at the Paris Masters at the Bercy arena.
He will be joined in giving up the game by Russian former No. 1 Marat Safin. "I have four tournaments to go and I want to do well", said Santoro, who plays in Tokyo next week.
"My desire is still just as strong on the court, but it's off the court where it's not the same".
But the veteran admits that his desire has finally slipped a bit when it comes to the drudge of preparation. "I don't train as much as I used to. I'd rather spend time with friends or at home than go to the gym. But I still go out to try and win every match".

Well, there's no question that Santoro will go out in style. The question is whether he'll go out a winner, and some would say he's already accomplished that, too.
