Marcos Baghdatis is keeping his reputation as a part-time party animal in check as he plays at this week's Malaysian Open.
The smiling Cypriot who reached the 2006 Australian Open final, is by nature always up for a good time, but it's all about the tennis in Kuala Lumpur.
He still couldn't resist checking out a few nighspots in the Muslim-Chinese capital city. "I like the club scene in Kuala Lumpur, I also like the local food and the people here", he told local media.
But the careful 24-year-old made sure to stay clear of the dance floor after having his troubles with injures in recent seasons. "I twisted my wrist, back and knee before and surgery is something I must avoid in the hope of getting my tennis career back on track".
The one-time No. 8 now stand outside the Top 100 after his drop due to physical problems. To try and lift his ranking, he's even entered in Challenger events this season.
"Injuries have interrupted my career but I'm 100 percent fit now. I'm determined to make a strong comeback", said the wildcard who immediate goal is to return to the Top 80.
