Joachim Johansson is playing doubles at this week's Malaysia Open with a local player whom he he has never even heard of.
While the 446th-ranked Swede is not exactly household name after last playing an ATP event a year ago and dealing with career-long shoulder injuries, partner Si Yew Meng has only seen his partner in action on television.
Before the start of play, the pair had certainly never hit together. The 30-year-old local is sure to want to make a big impression on the player who once dated the younger sister of Lleyton Hewitt, eighth seed at the event.
Yew Meng, a wild card entry, will team with Johansson against Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa in the first round.
"I have not met nor spoken to Johansson though I saw him play a few years ago on television," world No. 1,583 Yew Meng told local media. "We don't get chances to play at this level very often".
Joachim Johansson once stood ninth in the world until his physical problems began.
