Andy Roddick will make his delayed return to tennis the week after next when he plays for the first time since losing the Wimbledon final, taking the top seeding in Washington at the ATP 500 hardcourt event.
The three-time champion at the event in the steamy American capital has twice postponed returns, pulling form the US-Croatia Davis Cup tie and also withdrawing from the Indianapolis tournament this week.
On his Twitter, the world No. 6 wrote: "keep getting asked when my next tourney will be... I will see all of u in Washington in two weeks."
The one-time No. 1 has been resting a hip flexor problem at home in Austin and licking his wounds following a third Wimbledon loss to Roger Federer, awaiting the birth of his child but hoping to play at the Montreal Masters starting August 9.
