  • Murray glides into third round

    6/11/09 4:26 AM | Cheryl Murray
Murray glides into third round Top tournament seed Andy Murray delighted the home crowd with a straight set victory over Andreas Seppi.

In just slightly under an hour, Andy Murray wrapped up his second round win against Andreas Seppi at the AEGON Championships. The Scot was at his opponent-frustrating best. He mixed up the pace beautifully, served reasonably well and was broken just once in the match. Scotland’s native son is looking for his first ever Queens Club title.

The first set was all Murray. The Scot put in just 43% of first serves in the set, but he was still too much for Seppi. Murray only lost 2 points on serve as he pocketed the lead with a decisive 6-1 scoreline.

Seppi made a few inroads in the second set. He was able to secure a break of serve, but Murray’s impressive return game allowed him 2 breaks. The match win puts Murray in the third round, where he is scheduled to meet Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, the Spaniard who took out Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.

Nice win...but first serve can sure be improved...If the serve is on song you always have a better chance at grass like Sampras showed....Go Murray GL for today's match :)
