Madrid Masters supremo Ion Tiriac says he will solve all of the problems reported by players, press and public at last week's debut of the mega men's and women's event at the brand-new Magic Box complex with its three showcase clay courts.
"Give me two years and we'll discuss once again. Definitely whatever is wrong just throw it back to me," said the no-nonsense Romanian millionaire impresario who is keen to re-shape the face of the sport.
Players including Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick and others faulted locker rooms that were too small, practice courts that were too lumpy, and various other logistical aspects at the new facility which could be improved.
And innovator Tiriac is still keen to try and use blue clay - slammed by Nadal and Roger Federer - at his tournament, a required event for both women and men.
"It's my fault the courts are not perfect. I hope next year the courts are going to be perfect," Tiriac said. "There was also a big discussion about dressing rooms. Up to a certain point they are right. My fault again."
It is likely that all complaints will be successfully addressed in time for next year's edition by the usual Tiriac solution of throwing money at the problem.
