Former Australian player Scott Draper has had to abandon the golfing career he began four years ago due to the same back problem which drove him from the courts. Now the 30-year-old is trying his luck in securing a tennis coaching job.
Draper worked briefly with Lleyton Hewitt back in the day and put in an application recently to handle Ana Ivanovic, the job instead going to former Martina Navratilova mentor Craig Kardon.
"I believe in chasing your dreams and being passionate about what you do," Draper told Melbourne media.
"I'm in negotiations with one of the French players, but I ideally would like to be at home working with Aussie kids. If that doesn't eventuate then I certainly will be looking to get on the road and coach. I hope that doesn't necessarily happen, but I'm certainly willing to do it."
