Andy Roddick defeats Dmitry Tursunov on Sunday to reach the routh round of the Masters Series Miami. He is joined there by Roger Federer, a straight-set winner over Nicolas Kiefer.
Andy Roddick d. Dmitry Tursunov 7-6(9), 6-2
Roddick survived an entertaining first set before storming past Tursunov in one hour and 49 minutes in the first match of Stadium Court action on Sunday at the Sony Ericsson Open. The No. 5 seed blasted seven aces and no double-faults in the opening frame of play, but got broken once. He capitalized on one of six break-point chances as the first set progressed to a tiebreaker. Tursunov held set points on two different occasions in the decider, but Roddick finally prevailed 11 points to nine when the Russian netted a forehand. It was all downhill for Tursunov thereafter. The No. 25 seed saw his first-serve percentage dip to 43 percent in set two and he won a dismal 25 percent of his second-serve points. Two breaks were more than enough for Roddick to close out the match, and for good measure he dropped only four points in his last four service games. The American will clash with Gael Monfils for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Roger Federer d. Nicolas Kiefer 6-4, 6-1
Federer improved his head-to-head record against Kiefer to a dominant 12-3 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon in Miami. The second-ranked Swiss needed just one hour and 10 minutes to book his place in the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open. One break of serve was enough for Federer to take the first set, as he put in 76 percent of his first serves to take care of his own service games. Federer was virtually untouchable in the second. He lost a mere three points in three service games and jumped all over his opponent's second serves, winning 10 of 13 second-serve return points. Federer's third break of the match at 5-1 in the second finished off the proceedings. The No. 2 seed recorded five aces and one double-fault while serving at 80 percent. Next up for Federer is the surprising Taylor Dent, who is back from retirement following significant back surgery.

This is the first match in the whole year when Roger's first serve percentage reached 80% .I hope he sustains that level.More importantly I hope his back holds up.

I dont see any problem for Federer until Finals. At the same time winning this tournament is difficult and depends on how Federer plays in Final.

If Rodddick meets Djoker in semi finals, he is going to lose this time.
